An Open Letter to Novel Talk Authors

Dear Ones,

It was with a certain amount of sadness that I tendered my resignation last fall as review coordinator and reviewer for I am leaving a wide range of enjoyment I received while reading your books.

As I complete the tasks I need to do, one of the most important is to tell all of you how much I enjoyed reviewing for you, whether you are one of the "new" winners or those who have a long list of books to be proud of.  You have brought me laughter.  You have brought me tears.  You have taught me about areas I have never known and others that I know well.  And you have always given me happy endings.

I am not only a lover of books.  I am a published nonfiction writer, so I know the joy when a book or article is published.  I also know it is not always easy.  And being a life-long "helper", I love to see others succeed, as they reach goals they have placed for themselves, .  Above all, I have made friends that I would never have known.

But though I have really liked what I have been able to do, I have something that I love to do.  I am, heart and soul, an artist, and at this moment, I am stepping out to prove that I can do as an artist, what all of you have done as writers.

So I thank you for this short journey in years with NovelTalk, because it has been long in enjoyment.  I hope you wish me well, as I wish God-speed to you all.

THE HOT LINE by Cathryn Fox

Romantica/Erotica

Released on March 2008 by NAL/Penguin.

Cathryn Fox has gifted us with three fun tales of pure, erotic delight. She explores many fantasies, and brings in the firefighters to do the work. There is nothing sexier than watching a firefighter brought to his knees by the woman of his dreams. When the temperature starts spiking, there may only be one way to bring it down. A call to THE HOT LINE will help to extinguish those four alarm fires.

Let’s embark on a sensual ride as four friends come together for a wedding. Cassie is all for her three bridesmaids enjoying themselves. She tells them a secret that has them paying attention. It seems that the Chicago firemen have a special phone number that caters to personal emergencies. If any of the three ladies need a special touch, then all they have to do is call THE HOT LINE.

FEVER

Sara Jack finds Cassie’s secret intriguing, and the reporter in her is working overtime. THE HOT LINE may just give her that final push that will propel her out of small town news and into big time magazines. However, she realizes that to grab a good story she needs to do a lot of research, and she knows just the firefighter she wants coming to her rescue. Will Mitch answer her distress call? Can she convince her heart that she’s doing this for just a story?

Mitch Adams has always been a player, but eventually even playing around loses its appeal. He has his eye on Sara, but knows that Nick warned him about messing around with Cassie’s friends. He does not see any harm in having some fun especially when she initiates it by calling the firehouse’s special line. He is primed and ready for action, but he soon realizes that he is in over his head. How is Sara breaking though all of his defenses? Will he surrender his heart to her touch?

Sara and Mitch have a great sexual chemistry. Sparks fly whenever they come together, so it is a good thing that one of them is equipped to douse any embers before a raging inferno takes them by storm. Their easy and witty banter only adds to the fabulously hot storyline.

SIREN

Jenna Powers still sees herself as the chubby girl instead of the trim, fit woman that she has become. When the model for her lingerie line falls ill, her friends persuade her to model her own lingerie. Of course her friends leave her alone in the house wearing a too tight corset and a phone number on a card. She has no choice but to place a call to THE HOT LINE. Will Dean answer her plea for help?

Dean Beckman has been fantasizing about Jenna since he saw her. He thinks he has been working too hard and has left little time to play, so he needs to show Jenna a good time. Luck is with him when she calls the station for some help out of the sexy lingerie. He is just the man for the job. He cuts through Jenna’s preconceived notions about herself, and calls forth the vixen hiding inside. Is he ready to be tamed by the wild beast he helped unleash?

Jenna and Dean are a playful pair. They live out their wild fantasies for any and all to see. They have few inhibitions, so the sex is hot and steamy. They create a few fires of their own.

FLASH FIRE

Megan Wagner is wary of love especially after her divorce. She knows that there is no such thing as happily ever after, but she feels a bit left out as her friends find happiness. When the catering service for the wedding causes a bout of food poisoning, Megan volunteers to provide the meal. The food preparation puts her in close contact with Brady, and soon she is tempted to call THE HOT LINE for his services. Will Brady provide the type of service she needs?

Brady Wade knows that Megan is perfect for him, but he just has to convince her that they belong together. When he finds out about her ex-husband, he realizes that he has to show her that he is nothing like that man. He is willing to cater to her every whim along with helping her cater the wedding. Laying his heart on the line is easy. It is waiting for her response that is hard. Will Megan accept a man as a permanent fixture in her life?

Megan and Brady are a cute couple. They have so many common interests, and they work together well in every aspect. It is a matter of trust to embrace love again once you have been badly burned, but there is someone out there to soothe the hurt.
